Michelle Chrisman Plein Air Workshop

Plein Air Painting with Palette Knife in Oils
3-day Workshop
with Michelle Chrisman
Contemporary Colorist Painter
May 18th – 20th
$250 per student

This is a workshop you will not want to miss if you are a plein air artist.  We are excited to welcome Michelle to our wonderful community.  I hope you will come out and join us!

All levels of oil painters welcome: beginner to advanced

ARTIST’S STATEMENT: I love the visual beauty of New Mexico & the West.  I am a Contemporary Colorist & Modernist.  What excites me most about painting is “seeing” the abstract shapes & patterns in the visual world.  I paint  mostly
“en plein air,” painting the figure & landscape from life.
I am an Impressionist & Expressionist.
I strive to remain grounded in the principals of
“how the visual world works,” while at the same time,
responding emotionally
(and viserally) to the beauty of the visual world that I am
capturing in paint!
The medium of oil paint is also very important to me
- letting the medium speak, and not being afraid of the
calligraphy of impasto painting.
Please contact Amarillo Art Institute at (806) 354-8802 or email us for reservations at director@amarilloartinstitute.org
