Len Slesick’s OIL PAINTING class begins at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Len and his wife, Ginny, own Slesick Gallery in Sunset Center. Establishing his own Studio / Gallery over 20 years ago, Len has studied with such art notables as Elaine de Kooning, Laurence Calcango. Dord Fitz, Ben Konis, Rick Howell and Maggie Price.
Len has taught and conducted workshops in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Ireland.
Jacob Breeden’s ART HISTORY LECTURE SERIES begins at 10 a.m. Saturday with Global Aesthetic: A Brief Historical Survey of the World’s Great Art (first session – The Ancient World). Cost is $20 per session and preregistration is preferred. Jacob is a well-established local artist instructor who describes himself as a painter, sculptor, illustrator, cartoonist and graphic designer. He holds a BFA in sculpture from the University of North Texas.
