Rich Nichols will provide one-on-one instruction to each student as well as critiques. Students will be working a unique medium, liquid charcoal. Subject matter is also open and varied, including still life, landscape, and portrait/figure from photo. Use of this unique medium will be the main focus but not all, we will focus on mass and line and how they can influence each other and develop a sense of form, relate values to each other in an organized way, compare soft and sharp edges will be stressed. Students will learn concepts that help them to engage complicated areas and simplify these obstacles.
