Alex received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Oklahoma Panhandle State University in May of 2003. He then attended West Texas A&M University where he earned both the Master of Arts degree and Master of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art with concentrations in ceramics and painting. During his time at WTAMU Alex taught the studio art foundations courses, Drawing, and Design as a graduate student and then as a part-time instructor. He also taught Ceramics courses through the Department of Continuing Education at WTAMU. Alex and his wife own and operate a gallery/studio called The Object Gallery located in Sunset Galleries. Alex’s work has been included in numerous invitational and juried exhibitions.
Alex believes that as an artist it is one of his most important responsibilities to make himself available as an educator. Alex is Curator of Art at Amarillo Museum of Art. He teaches ceramics courses at Amarillo Art Institute.
