New classes are forming in drawing, painting and clay and we will soon have the summer schedule for your viewing. May will be a busy month at Amarillo Art Institute. Come by to visit us on First Friday Art Walk on May 7 from 5 – 9. The Photography Club, that regularly meets at AAI, will be hosting Friday Night Art Walk. They will have refreshments for you to enjoy while viewing their beautiful photography.
On May 6 – 8, internationally know sculpture, Lincoln Fox, will be having a workshop with us. You might be familiar with Lincoln’s work in the Albuquerque International Airport. It’s hard to miss this 17′ piece. He also has an 18′ piece in the Fine Arts Museum of Albuquerque and a 23′ piece in a Texas University. May 19 – 22 we are very pleased to have Jack Sorenson in Amarillo Art Institute with his workshop. The spaces are full but you can call and we will put your name on the waiting list.
May 27 Debbie Hannah Skinner will have her workshop, “Aqua Adventure -Fun With Florals on Aqua Board” Deborah is amazing and you can go check out her website — wisdomwatercolor.com. Sign up soon as the space is limited.
We are signing up students now for June workshops also. German Impressionist artist, Guido Frick will be returning to AAI. June 9 – 12 Mike Mahon will be having a Portrait Workshop in Pastel & Oil. Ed Povey will be returning also in June.
