Good Wednesday Morning AAI Fans! Did you know that oil such as linseed was boiled with a resin such as pine resin or even frankincense; these were called ‘varnishes’ and were prized for their body and gloss back in the 15th century. Today we have Oil Painting Class with Len Slesick from 1-4PM and with Emin Abassov from 6-9PM.
“Rainy Romance”, Leonid Afremov, (24×30), oil on canvas.
Today I will be introducing an artist that I’m just now becoming familiar with, but happened to really enjoy his work. Russian artist, Leonid Afremov. Each of his artworks with oil and the palette-knife reflects his feelings, sensitivity, passion, and the music from his soul. True art is alive and inspired by humanity. “I believe that art helps us to be free from aggression and depression”, he said.
For more on Leonid visit his website at, www.afremov.com.
